Since 2011, Hong Kong Blind Union started to provide e-learning support to print disabled students. From 2013, the project received funding support from The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust and was renamed as “Jockey Club E-Learning for All” project (ELFA). We are happy to announce that starting from April 2019, ELFA will continue to be supported by the Trust under The Hong Kong Jockey Club Community Project Grant.

In the last 8 years, apart from translating printed materials into e-versions and providing training to print disabled students, ELFA has carried out study on the effectiveness of e-learning with The University of Hong Kong and organized an e-learning symposium in 2018.  Also, the project had developed different kinds of assistive tools, including software and mobile Apps to facilitate students to using e-learning.

Starting from April 2019, ELFA will focus on providing ebooks for print disabled students to meet their learning requirements.  The target users will also be extended to non-students for non-academic books. Moreover, ELFA will carry on providing trainings on e-Learning, developing assistive software and maintaining online information platform.

If you have any enquiries on ELFA, please contact our project staff, at 39960760 during office hour or email to elfa@hkbu.org.hk.
