Our Services

Advocacy

We have been striving for reasonable and equal rights for people with visual impairment over the years. Our members of the Equal Opportunities in Social Participation Committee advocate policies to encourage visually impaired persons to enjoy equal participation in social affairs, the work of the Committee include:

  • meeting regularly with government departments and other concerned institutions, and endeavour to improve the policies and barrier-free facilities for the visually impaired, including: transport, employment, education, housing, welfare as well as medical and health services;
  • monitoring the progress of the HKSAR government in carrying out the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities;
  • cooperating with other disabled organisations to advocate for the rights for people with disabilities.
