"Li Chu Shuk- kwan Education Fund Award Scheme 2023-2024”, “Lee Bing Vocal Music Development Fund Award Scheme 2023-2024” and "Good Mentor Commendation Scheme” 2023-2024”

"Li Chu Shuk-kwan Education Fund Award Scheme 2023-2024"

Aims

The Scheme was set up to encourage people who have successfully overcome the obstacles caused by visual impairment and strive to achieve excellent academic results. Meanwhile, it encourages the visually impaired student to develop their talents or participate in social affairs actively.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

- Visually impaired students who are receiving integrated education provided by registered educational institutions in Hong Kong can apply to the Academic or General Division;

- Or visually impaired youths (Aged from 15 to 30) who are non-students can only apply to the Public section of the General Division

 

For Academic Division

- Achieved outstanding results in the recent school or public examinations;

- Submit the school’s recommendation letter.

 

For General Division

- Achieved outstanding performance on their talents (excluding music-related items) or participated in social affairs actively.

- Submit the recommendation letter and other proven documents of their own talent or achievement.

 

* The judging panel reserves the right to a final decision.

 

How to apply

The completed application form, together with the required documents (see Part A of the application form), should be sent by mail to "Hong Kong Blind Union Jockey Club Vocational and Educational Resources Centre” at Unit 13-20, G/F, Tsui Ying House, Tsui Ping Estate, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Please mark "Li Chu Shuk-kwan Education Fund Award Scheme 2023-2024” on the envelope. Submission can also be made by fax at 23387850 or by email at verc@hkbu.org.hk

 

Deadline

8 February 2024

 

Awards

Each awardee will be awarded a certificate and a scholarship.

 

Publication of the results

Selected awardees will be notified by late February 2024.

"Lee Bing Vocal Music Development Fund Award Scheme 2023-2024"

Aims

The Scheme was set up in memory of the late vocalist Ms Lee Bing to assist visually impaired young people with singing talent to develop their potential.

 

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must meet the following criteria;

- Applicants must be Hong Kong residents, aged between 12-30;

- Be visually impaired and have singing talent;

- Applicants shall submit relevant information which can show their singing abilities, including a singing clip of not less than three minutes (mp3 format), and other information such as singing competition results, records of attending relevant activities, etc.;

- Attach the action plan for usage of the allowance and a letter of recommendation (see application form Part B and Part C).

 

* The judging panel reserves the right to a final decision.

Awards

- At most two applicants will be awarded each year. Each awardee can get an allowance of HK$ 38,000 on a reimbursement basis.

- The allowance must be used for vocal music training-related expenses.

Selected awardees will be notified by late February 2024.

"Good Mentor Commendation Scheme 2023-2024"

Aims

The Scheme was set up to encourage public awareness of integrated education and recognize teachers and students who have provided enthusiastic support for visually impaired students. The election aims to promote a caring, inclusive campus atmosphere and equal opportunities for students who are visually impaired.

 

How to apply

Completed application form should be sent by mail to "Hong Kong Blind Union Jockey Club Vocational and Educational Resources Centre” at Unit 13-20, G/F, Tsui Ying House, Tsui Ping Estate, Kwun Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong. Please mark "Good Mentor Commendation Scheme 2023-2024” on the envelope. Submission can also be made by fax at 23387850 or by email at  verc@hkbu.org.hk

 

Deadline

31 March 2024

 

Awards

Elected awardees will be awarded a certificate to show our appreciation. Elected awardees must attend the award presentation ceremony to be held in April 2024.

 

Publication of the results

Selected awardees will be notified by Early April 2024.
